Before & After the Funeral

After a loved one dies, family members are bombarded with questions related to decisions that must be made before the funeral. Working through those questions ahead of time will ease the burden. A second flurry of activity occurs after the funeral to settle the deceased’s estate. Learn when probate is and isn’t necessary, and the steps that the deceased’s loved ones can expect in settling the deceased’s affairs.

Bonnie Wittenburg, a lawyer, and Jeanne McGill, a funeral consultant, will team-lead this presentation.

Testimonials from Eden Prairie Community Ed Participants

“Wonderful! Wonderful! I’m going to tell everyone.”

“We really liked how quickly Bonnie moved the class along and the length of the class (short and sweet). There was a lot of ground to cover, but her speed helped you to pay attention, direct the class to be productive and wasn’t so lengthy you lost interest. She took time to answer questions, but immediately redirected if they began to get off subject. She was available after the class for more questions.”

“We just buried my brother and my sister is handling all the paperwork. I wanted to know how to go about things, and even how to get started. We have had 5 funerals in our family and who knows who will be next? If one can somehow prepare to make the task less daunting and when not under pressure to learn, this is a great class idea.”

Why purple?

The purple is a tribute to my mother, who died before I started my own law firm. Purple was my mother's favorite color.
